The LSCF’s Levy Lecture: Myths of Grammar with Sophie Lucido Johnson and Shane DuBow is now available to watch on the Levy Senior Center Foundation’s YouTube channel. Over five engaging sessions, you’ll learn the rules, strategies, and rhythms of this classic tile game. Each class builds on the last, so it’s essential to attend all five—especially the first one, when we cover the fundamentals. Do you struggle with aspects of your smartphone, tablet, or laptop? Need help utilizing FaceTime or Zoom, scanning QR codes, organizing and sharing your photos, downloading apps, sending emails, or even navigating patient care portals and hospital websites? Tech Tuesdays can help you with a variety of issues you may be experiencing. The Levy Senior Center, in partnership with the LSCF, continues to offer appointments for free tech support and training to help you feel more comfortable with your devices. To make an appointment for a 30-minute session in the Levy Senior Center library, call the front desk at (847) 448-8250 today. Appointments are available Tuesdays 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
Join us at the Levy Senior Center on Friday, November 21, at 1:30 pm for a Fran Randall Classical Concert with young, gifted performers: Ami Hatori, a Japanese pianist whose work spans solo performance, collaboration, and community engagement, Anita Graef, an American cellist who has garnered praise as a musician of “superb artistry” (Pasadena Now) who plays with “high energy and polish” (WQXR), and Julian Graef, a violinist and violist who has earned acclaim as an artist of remarkable versatility! Are you interested in talking with young people? Talking Benches, an opportunity to engage in intergenerational conversations, is returning! The program will be held at the Levy Senior Center in the Elm Room on the following Tuesdays: Oct. 14, 28, Nov. 18, and Dec. 9, from 4:15 to 5:30 pm. Older adults will be paired with high school students who will come prepared with a list of questions; be prepared with your own list as well! Each conversation will last about 30 minutes before participants rotate. The students are eager to hear about your life! Registration is FULL.

Rothschild Gardens
The Rothschild Gardens are in full bloom and look as beautiful as ever! You’ll find the Gardens nestled inside the Levy Senior Center with an abundance of perennial flowers, a water feature, and patio seating. Bring your favorite games and come relax in the courtyard! The Gardens are open during the Levy Senior Center’s hours: weekdays from 8:30 am - 8:00 pm and weekends from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.
The LSCF’s Levy Longevity: A Guide to Strength Training with Shaun Zetlin is now available to watch on the Levy Senior Center Foundation’s YouTube channel. Overcome your fears of strength training with Shaun Zetlin’s easy-to-follow fitness program that incorporates exercises for stability, strength, and power. This series of body-weight exercises is gentle, can be progressively increased with strength training, and can be conveniently performed at home! Click here to watch the lecture.
Enjoy a free Jamming Jean Concert featuring Midnight Sun on Friday, December 5. With a dynamic rhythm section and versatile vocalists, the band transports audiences through time with hits from the ‘60s to contemporary faves. Their mastery extends beyond the hits; they effortlessly recreate even obscure B-sides with a deep knowledge of soul music. This concert takes place from 5:00 – 7:00 pm inside the Levy Senior Center. Enjoy drinks and dinner from Hecky’s Barbecue. Registration is not required.
Endeavor Health and the LSCF are partnering to bring you Yoga for the Heart with Claire Mark. Join us in the Locust Room at the Levy Senior Center for this 7-session class on Tuesdays Oct. 7 – Nov. 18, from 3:30-4:30 pm. Each session will cover Pranayama (Breathwork), Gentle Warm-Ups, Asana (poses), and Guided Relaxation for Meditation. The class can be done standing or seated (chair yoga). Chairs, blocks, blankets, and bolsters will be provided. Registration is FULL.
